01MXR 6-Band EQ / Graphic EQ
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; put in FX loop to carve Dime's extreme 'V' curve
02Digital Delay (Boss DD-3 or DD-7)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; set in FX loop for 420ms studio solo repeats
The VS100 uses OD2 with the Contour control set around 8 (fully clockwise scoops mids) to emulate Dimebag's solid-state Randall bite. Because you own no pedals, amp gain is set to 9 on OD2 to capture the searing saturation and natural sustain of the solo. Adding an EQ in the FX loop down the road will allow you to achieve Dimebag's extreme pre-boost and post-scoop curve perfectly.
