Used as a tight pre-gain treble/mid boost in front of the Ultra Gain channel to mimic the Furman PQ-3 front-end push

Why these settings

Dimebag's tone relied on solid-state Randall clipping and heavy parametric mid-scooping, whereas the DSL5CR is a mid-forward Marshall tube amp. We cut the DSL's mids down to 2 and elevate treble to 8 to recreate that aggressive solid-state bite. The DS-1 is set as a clean level boost with minimal distortion to tighten the Jackson's bridge humbucker and clip the front end like Dime's Furman EQ.

PRO TIPDimebag tuned a quarter-step flat (approx 425Hz-430Hz reference) for Cowboys from Hell—tune down slightly between standard E and Eb to lock in with the original track's pitch and string tension.
