Why these settings

The Blackstar ID:30TVP lacks a presence knob, so I've pushed treble to 8 to compensate for high-end cut. ISF fully clockwise gives the British-style aggressive midrange attack closer to the Randall's solid-state snarl. Mid dropped to 2 (vs Randall's 4) because the Blackstar's OD2 channel is already mid-heavy—this achieves the scooped V-curve Dimebag used via the MXR EQ.

PRO TIPDimebag's attack came from extremely precise alternate picking with the pick angled sharply and striking close to the bridge. The right hand is 50% of this tone—practice tight sixteenth-note chugs with zero slop between notes, and mute aggressively with your palm for that machine-gun staccato on the main riff.
