RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Run in FX loop if possible; if no loop, run in front of amp. This V-curve scoop is essential to Dimebag's tone. A Boss GE-7 or Behringer EQ700 works as a budget substitute.
The Blackstar ID:30TVP lacks a presence knob, so I've pushed treble to 8 to compensate for high-end cut. ISF fully clockwise gives the British-style aggressive midrange attack closer to the Randall's solid-state snarl. Mid dropped to 2 (vs Randall's 4) because the Blackstar's OD2 channel is already mid-heavy—this achieves the scooped V-curve Dimebag used via the MXR EQ.
