01Boss GE-7 Graphic EQ

Critical for Dime's scoop — deep cut at 400-800Hz, boost highs and low-end. Run in front of amp or in FX loop if available

02Harley Benton Drop Kick (Tube Screamer-style)

Use as a tight boost — low drive, high level pushes the front end and tightens low-end flub. Dime used the Furman PQ-4 similarly for mid-push

Why these settings

The Laney IRT is tube-based with more natural compression than Dime's solid-state Randalls, which were tighter and more immediate. Compensate by scooping mids harder (down to 3 vs typical 5) and using the GE-7 to carve the 400-800Hz valley that defines his tone. Your SG's humbuckers are warmer than the L500XL's tight, hot output — the Drop Kick as a boost adds the attack and cuts low-end mud.

PRO TIPDime's pick attack was critical — use a heavy pick (1.5mm+), strike hard directly over the bridge pickup, and keep your palm muting extremely tight against the strings for that percussive chunk on the main riff.
