RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This is critical for Dimebag's scoop. The Furman PQ-3 or MXR EQ in front of the amp carved out the 400-800Hz range while boosting low and high presence. Without it, you'll get close but not exact.

Why these settings

Your Champion II 25's Metal voice is the closest match to Dimebag's Randall—both are solid-state with tight, uncompressed gain. The Les Paul Junior's P-90 is hotter and grittier than Dimebag's humbuckers, so I pulled gain back from 10 to 8 to prevent mud. Mids scooped to 3 replicates his signature cut; the 8-inch speaker will lose some low-end authority compared to a 4x12, so bass is pushed to 7 to compensate.

PRO TIPDimebag's pick attack was everything—use a heavy pick (1.0mm+), anchor your palm firmly on the bridge for tight muting, and strike the strings hard at a slight angle. Tune down to D standard (D-G-C-F-A-D) to match the recording's pitch and string tension.
