Crazy train amp settings — Fender Twin Reverb
The Ozzy osbourne guitar tone for “Crazy train”, dialed in for a Fender Twin Reverb with a Fender Player Stratocaster. Studio version, Blizzard of Ozz (1980) — signature main riff and rhythm
1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom -> MXR Distortion+ -> MXR 10-Band Graphic EQ -> 1975 Marshall JMP 1959 Super Lead 100W -> 4x12 cabs (Altec 417-8H)

| Bass | 4 |
| Mid | 8 |
| Treble | 5 |
| Reverb | 2 |
| Master | 4 |
01MXR Distortion+
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; essential to Randy's front-end hard clipping
02MXR 10-Band EQ
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; push 500Hz-1kHz to replicate Randy's signature midrange bark
The Fender Twin Reverb has massive clean headroom and an inherently scooped midrange, making Randy's cranked Marshall crunch impossible to fully replicate through amp controls alone. To bridge the gap today, turn the Bright switch off, push the Mid knob to 8, pull Bass down to 4 to prevent flub, and roll your Strat's bridge tone down to 8 to tame the glassy single-coil bite. Once you acquire an MXR Distortion+, drop the amp volume/gain to 3 to use the Twin purely as a clean pedal platform.
