RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; essential to bridge the gap between a clean Fender Twin and Noel's Valvestate crunch
A Fender Twin Reverb has immense clean headroom and will not distort on its own at practical volumes, so an external British-voiced drive pedal is required to replicate Noel's Valvestate OD2 grit. To counter the Stratocaster's thin single-coil bite compared to Noel's Les Paul Custom, the bright switch is off, mids are pushed to 8, and the tone knob is pulled back to 8 to thicken the upper register. With the recommended distortion pedal engaged, keep the Twin's EQ focused on midrange punch rather than its natural scooped top end.
