Animals amp settings — Fender Mustang LT25
The Nickelback guitar tone for “Animals”, dialed in for a Fender Mustang LT25 with a Esp Ltd m-10. Studio version, All the Right Reasons (2005)
Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier (Modern/Red channel, Silicon Diode tracking), Gibson Les Paul with humbuckers, Tube Screamer for boost, minimal effects
| Knob | Setting (0–10) |
|---|---|
| Gain | 8 |
| Bass | 5 |
| Mid | 4 |
| Treble | 7 |
| Reverb | 0 |
| Master | 6 |
The original uses a Mesa Dual Rectifier's Modern channel with scooped mids and high gain. The Mustang LT25's Metal 2000 model is voiced similarly to a Rectifier — already mid-scooped and high-gain. Kept mid at 4 to match the original's scoop without disappearing; bass at 5 stays tight on the small speaker (higher gets flubby). Treble at 7 preserves the cutting attack on palm mutes. No presence knob exists on this amp.
