Why these settings

The AC4 is a Class A Vox with chimey cleans and limited gain on tap — it will not achieve JCM800 saturation alone. Gain is maxed and master pushed to 7 to drive the power section into breakup, but you need the recommended TS-style pedal to get the compressed, tight chunk of the original. Mids are dropped to 3 to approximate Toro's scooped voicing; the Vox's natural midrange is more forward than a Marshall, so this compensates. Treble at 7 balances your Les Paul's warmth against the Vox's bright top end.

PRO TIPToro's palm-muting attack is critical — rest your picking hand lightly near the bridge saddles, not floating above. Dig in hard with downstrokes on the low E and A strings. The tight 'chug' comes from pick attack and muting precision, not just gain.
