RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The MG10's gain stage lacks the saturation and low-end tightness of the Mark IIC+. A Metal Zone or Boss ML-2 Metal Core (£50-80 used) into the Clean channel would get you 70% of the way there. Without it, the amp's OD channel is your only option but will sound thinner and fizzier.

Why these settings

The MG10 is a solid-state practice amp with a thin, fizzy overdrive compared to the original's tube saturation and tight low-end. I've maxed gain, scooped mids hard (2 vs original's 4) to compensate for the MG's naturally mid-forward voicing, and pushed bass to 7 for chunk. The MG has no presence knob. Your JS11's ceramic humbuckers are hotter and brighter than the original Invaders, so I've rolled tone to 8 to tame ice-pick highs. This will get you in the ballpark, but the amp fundamentally cannot produce the low-end tightness or harmonic complexity of a cranked tube rig.

PRO TIPHetfield's tone lives in the picking hand — aggressive downstrokes only on the chugging sections, palm muting right at the bridge saddles (not further back), and hitting the strings hard with the pick angled slightly. This attack consistency matters more than any knob setting for getting that machine-gun tightness.
