RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This is critical for the scooped V-curve that defines the Master of Puppets tone. Place before amp input. Without this, you cannot replicate the characteristic mid-scoop.
The Blackstar Debut 15E is a practice amp with limited gain staging compared to the Mark IIC+/JCM800 rig. ISF fully clockwise gives you the tighter British voicing needed for thrash. Mids dropped to 2 to approximate the scoop, but without a graphic EQ pedal the deep V-curve is unobtainable—the amp's 3-band EQ cannot cut 750Hz while boosting 80Hz and 2.2kHz independently. Bass pushed to 7 to compensate for the small 3-inch speakers losing low-end thump.
