RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for tightening low end and adding mid-focus to compensate for the Micro Terror's loose bass. Run gain at 0; this is a clean boost to push the amp, not add fuzz.
The Orange Micro Terror is warm and compressed with thick low-mids, unlike the Mesa's tight, surgical scoop. I dropped mid to 2 (Mesa original was ~4.5 but Orange mids are already prominent), pushed bass to 7 to match the Black Album's low-end thump, and maxed gain because the Micro Terror's 20W hybrid preamp won't achieve Mesa IIC++ saturation otherwise. Your RG550's passive humbuckers have less output than Hetfield's active EMG 81s, so gain stays maxed. Without a TS-style pedal to tighten the low end, the tone will be mushier than the original.
