Why these settings

The Frontman 10G is a 10-watt practice amp with a 6" speaker and minimal preamp gain — it cannot reach Mesa Mark IIC+ high-gain saturation at any setting. Maxed gain on this amp produces mild crunch at best. You need a distortion pedal as your gain source; the amp settings above keep it clean to receive the pedal's signal. I dropped bass from the original's 5.5 to 4 because the small speaker gets flubby with too much low end. The Frontman 10G has no mid or presence knob — the scooped character will come from the pedal's tone control.

PRO TIPTune to E♭ standard (half step down) to match the recording. Palm-mute aggressively right at the bridge saddles for that tight 'chunk' — the Strat's single coils will sound thinner than EMGs, so dig in hard with the pick and stay close to the bridge.
