RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This replicates the Aphex mid-scoop and low/high-mid boost that defined the Justice tone. Run in front of amp or in Blackstar's effects loop if available.
The Blackstar ID:Core's ISF should be set fully clockwise (British/Marshall voicing) to get closer to the tight, aggressive character. Your Donner's passive single-coils are significantly lower output and brighter than Hetfield's hot EMG 81s, so gain is pushed to 7 (vs the original's moderate preamp gain that relied on active pickup compression), and treble stays high to compensate for the thinner attack. The mid-scoop that defines Justice is nearly impossible without an EQ pedal — the Aphex units were critical to that sound.
