RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This V-shaped EQ curve is essential to the Mark IIC+ scooped tone. Place in effects loop if available, otherwise run before amp input. Without this pedal, the Palco's voicing will not achieve the signature mid-scoop.
The Palco 4444 is a budget solid-state amp with limited gain and flat voicing — it cannot replicate the Mark IIC+'s tube saturation or onboard graphic EQ. I've pushed gain to maximum and scooped mids hard on the amp itself, but the defining V-curve EQ requires an external pedal. Without it, boost bass and treble while cutting mid as far as the amp allows. The tone will lack the original's compression and harmonic richness.
