RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. A TS9 clone ($30-50) is essential for this tone; it tightens the low end and pushes mids. Without it, the Behringer's gain alone will sound fizzy and loose. Budget options: Joyo Vintage Overdrive, Behringer TO800.
The Behringer HA-10G is a small solid-state practice amp with limited headroom and a harsh high-gain voicing compared to the JCM800's tube saturation. Gain is maxed because the amp lacks tube compression—without a TS9 in front, the tone will be thin and buzzy. Mids are dropped to 3 (original was 4-5) because this amp has a nasally midrange spike; treble stays high at 8 to retain the JCM800's cut. Bass is reduced to 4 to prevent flubby low-end from the small speaker.
