Why these settings

The VT40X's UK ROCK model approximates the JCM800's mid-forward aggression. Mids pushed to 7 to replicate Mustaine's signature bark; bass kept at 4 (lower than a real 800 setting of 5-6) because the Vox modeling adds low-end bloom. Your Kirk Hammett LP's 490R/498T humbuckers are hotter than Mustaine's passive Seymour Duncans, so gain stays at 7 rather than 8. Without an SD-1, the tone will lack the characteristic tight pick definition — consider adding one.
