Why these settings

The Mustang LT25's British 70s model approximates the Peavey Mace's Marshall-like voicing Collins achieved through speaker rewiring. Your Ibanez's ceramic humbuckers are hotter and brighter than vintage PAFs, so I pulled treble down 1-2 from the original's 7.5 and pushed mids up to 7 to capture that midrange bark. Tone knob at 8 tames the Ibanez's top-end sizzle to match the Explorer's warmer voicing.

PRO TIPCollins used his picking hand position to control dynamics — dig in hard near the bridge for the aggressive attack phrases, then float back toward the neck pickup area for the singing sustained notes. This gives you the dynamic range without touching your volume knob.
