Because Black Dog was tracked direct into a mixing board preamp and twin 1176 compressors rather than a traditional guitar cabinet, we set the Zoom G6 amp model to a clean platform and generate the clipping with the compressor into the fuzz block. To compensate for single coils on a Stratocaster vs Jimmy Page's humbucking Les Paul, the guitar tone knob is pulled to 8 and mid/bass EQ are boosted to thicken the attack.
