01Tube Screamer style overdrive (TS9 or clone)

RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for achieving the mid-focused push and clarity Namimoto gets from his Analog Man TS9 Mod stacked into the Bogner. A basic TS9, TS808 clone, or Ibanez Tube Screamer Mini gets you 80% there. Run into amp input.

Why these settings

Your Loudvox LM800 is a Marshall-style voiced amp — mid-forward like the Bogner but with less refined high-gain saturation. The Bogner's thick midrange is replicated by pushing mids to 7 and keeping bass tight at 4 to avoid mud. Treble dropped to 5 because Marshall-style amps get harsh faster than Bogner. Without an overdrive pedal, you lose the stacked clarity Namimoto relies on — a TS-style pedal is strongly recommended to push the front end and tighten the low frequencies.

PRO TIPRoll your guitar's tone knob to 7 instead of 10 — Namimoto's Les Paul with Fralin pickups has a smooth top end, and your Giannini's humbuckers will be brighter and thinner by comparison. This softens the pick attack and gets closer to that 'thick yet clear' character without sounding ice-picky on leads.
