RECOMMENDED — not currently owned
The Blues Junior IV has a punchy midrange focus, so middle is pulled back to 4 to emulate the scooped Two-Rock/Dumble clean platform. Keeping the amp Volume at 4 sets the front end right at edge-of-breakup when digging in, while rolling the Strat tone knob to 8 smooths the brighter Squier ceramic pickups to match Mayer's underwound neck/middle quack. With a transparent OD pedal, you would set the amp completely clean and use the pedal for touch-sensitive gain boost.
