Ibanez JS1000, SansAmp direct plug-in / Palmer speaker simulator, digital delay and lush studio plate reverb
| Knob | Setting (0–10) |
|---|---|
| Bass | 5 |
| Mid | 7 |
| Treble | 4 |
| Reverb | 4 |
| Master | 4 |
01Tech 21 SansAmp Classic / GT2 (or Boss DS-1 / Satchurator style distortion)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; critical to provide Satriani's smooth direct-amp lead saturation
02Digital Delay
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; set to ~400ms quarter-note or dotted-eighth echo
The studio track was recorded direct using SansAmp emulation into Pro Tools with high sustain and warm low-mids. Because the Fender Twin Reverb is a high-headroom, naturally scooped and bright clean amp without an onboard master gain control, you must turn off the Bright switch, push the Mid control up to 7, and roll the Treble down to 4. To fully capture the signature infinite singing sustain on this clean amp, an external high-gain distortion and digital delay are essential upgrades.
