01Compressor (Dynacomp-style recommended)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The studio tone is squashed and even. Place before overdrive.
02Overdrive (TS-style recommended)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for this tone. A Tube Screamer, Boss SD-1, or any mid-hump OD will get you 85% there. The Twin Reverb will not produce this grit on its own.
The Twin Reverb is a clean platform that won't break up until ear-splitting volumes. This tone requires a drive pedal in front — the amp alone cannot produce the compressed grit. Mid pushed to 7 compensates for the Twin's naturally scooped voicing. Treble and presence kept conservative because the Strat's single coils are already bright and the original tone isn't fizzy.
