RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This pedal is essential for the Mundo tone. A Tube Screamer clone or Blues Driver clone ($30-50) will get you there. Without it, push amp gain to 7 and accept less note definition.

Why these settings

Your GRG170DX has humbuckers vs the original Telecaster single coils, so I dropped treble by 1 and raised mids by 1 to compensate for the darker, thicker humbucker output. The Grailton GA-20 is a practice amp with limited headroom, so the drive pedal recommendation is critical—the amp alone will sound fizzy at high gain without a proper OD shaping the signal first. Roll your tone knob to 7 to tame humbucker harshness and get closer to that Tele bite.

PRO TIPFor the iconic Mundo solo, use your bridge pickup and pick closer to the neck to soften the attack—Blaster's tone has that singing, almost vocal quality because he's not picking aggressively over the bridge. Let the drive pedal do the sustain work.
