01Jim Dunlop Cry Baby GCB95
In front of modeler; sweep actively during expressive vocal solo phrases
02TS-style Overdrive block
Tightens low end and adds singing sustain into the Marshall amp block
03Digital Delay block
Post-amp / FX loop placement; roughly 380-420ms tempo-synced quarter or dotted-eighth delay
Janick's tone comes from hot bridge pickups hitting a pushed Marshall with mid-hump overdrive. On your RG550, the bridge humbucker pushes the M-Vave Blackbox hard, so run the TS overdrive block as a clean boost with low gain to retain articulation without fizz. Treble is pulled back slightly to 6 and tone to 9 to tame the RG550's sharper top-end attack compared to Janick's warmer Strat tone. For the clean intro/verse, switch off the overdrive and delay blocks and select a clean Fender-style amp block with neck pickup.
