Why these settings

The Frontman 15G is a small solid-state practice amp with no mid control and cannot reach Marshall JCM800 crunch levels — its gain maxed still sounds thin and fizzy rather than saturated. Bass dropped to 4 (from original 5) because the 8-inch speaker gets muddy fast; treble at 6 (down from 7) because your Ultra Strat's noiseless pickups are brighter than Murray's vintage-wound DiMarzios. A distortion pedal is mandatory to get the gain structure right — without one you'll have clean-to-breakup tones only.

PRO TIPThe gallop rhythm is all in the picking hand — strict alternate picking with palm mutes planted firmly near the bridge saddles. Murray and Smith keep their attacks sharp and uniform; any inconsistency in pick angle kills the chug. Practice the gallop pattern (down-up-down rest) at half speed with a metronome before adding gain.
