Why these settings

The original track relies on a warm, full-bodied indie clean tone with subtle breakup, likely tracked with humbuckers. On your Squier Bullet Stratocaster, using the neck+middle position and rolling the tone knob down to 8 offsets single-coil thinness. The Mustang I has only Bass and Treble knobs on its panel, so keep Bass up to add low-end weight while relying on the onboard overdrive model to provide touch-sensitive edge-of-breakup grit.

PRO TIPPick lightly over the middle pickup for the glassy clean arpeggios, then dig in firmly near the bridge on chord accents to push the Mustang's modeled preamp into dynamic breakup.
