01Screamer (TS9 Block)
Used as a clean boost in front of the amp model to tighten low end and add sustain
02Analog Delay Block
Post-amp/FX position for Guthrie's spacious lead echo
03Hall Reverb Block
Post-amp block to emulate studio room depth
The MG-30's Brit 800 model provides the rich EL34 British midrange of Guthrie's Cornford RK100 without getting overly fizzy. Pairing it with the Screamer block set with minimum Drive and boosted Level cuts flubby sub-bass and gives a HSS Strat the compressed, endless sustain of Guthrie's custom humbuckers. To tame the squier bridge pickup's top-end bite, the tone knob is rolled back slightly to 8. Clean tapping intro: switch to neck single coil and roll guitar volume down to 6.
