Why these settings

The original is a dimed non-master-volume Marshall with a hot-wound humbucker — saturated preamp crunch with mid-forward voicing. Your Tone Master Deluxe Reverb is Fender-voiced: scooped mids, bright treble shelf, and strong clean headroom that won't break up naturally. I pushed mids to 8 (vs original's 8.5) to compensate for the Fender scoop, dropped treble to 5 (original was 7) because the Strat's single coils are already bright and the Fender amp's treble is harsher than a Marshall's, and raised bass to 6 (original was 5) because your Strat lacks the low-end thump of a Les Paul humbucker. Without a drive pedal, this amp cannot produce the required gain — the TS is non-negotiable.

PRO TIPSlash's attack on this riff is aggressive downstrokes with the pick angled slightly. Roll your Strat's tone knob to 7 to tame the single-coil ice-pick and fatten the mids — this simulates the darker, rounder attack of an Alnico II humbucker. Tune down to Eb to match the record's tension and thump.
