01Onboard Digital Delay (Boss Katana Delay Block)
Engage for the signature echo intro only; switch off once the main riff starts
The Katana 50 Gen 3's Brown amp type recreates the high-octane modified Marshall Plexi crunch used on the record without needing an external pedal. The Ibanez ART100 humbuckers provide solid output, so pushing the Katana's midrange to 7 and treble to 6 captures Slash's signature biting upper-mid bark. The Katana 50 faceplate lacks a physical presence knob, so all high-end cut is shaped strictly via the treble control. Clean verse/intro echo: toggle the onboard delay block on for the opening descending pattern, then bypass it as soon as the drums crash in.
