Why these settings

The Twin Reverb is a clean platform with a high treble shelf and scooped mids — opposite of the mid-forward JCM800. Compensated by pushing mids to 7 (vs original ~6.5), dropping treble to 5 (Twin is brighter), and keeping bass at 6 for warmth. Your Strat's single coils are brighter and lower output than Slash's humbuckers, so the TS's tone knob is rolled back to 4 to tame ice-pick highs. Without an overdrive pedal, this tone is unobtainable on a Twin — the amp stays clean until ear-damaging volumes.

PRO TIPSlash's sustain on this solo comes from controlled feedback at high volume, not a sustainer pedal. At bedroom levels, cheat it by standing close to your amp and angling the neck pickup toward the speaker — the magnetic field couples and you'll catch natural feedback on the G and B strings where the solo lives.
