Original used a modded Plexi with cascaded gain stages — the Mustang LT25's 'British 80s' model approximates that Marshall voicing. Mid pushed to 7 because the original tone is mid-forward and the Mustang's digital models run slightly scooped. Gain at 6 (not higher) because the Dookie mod produced saturation at moderate knob positions — Billie Joe ran 'gain at 10 o'clock.' Your Mustang HS humbucker is hotter than the L-500XL was, so you need less gain than the original amp setting suggests. DS-2 left off — the original recording used zero pedals.
