RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. The Yamaha GA15II is a solid-state practice amp with limited gain on tap. To hit the Dookie crunch, you need an external dirt source. A DS-1 set to moderate gain with the tone slightly bright will get you in the ballpark. Keep the pedal's distortion LOW — Billie's tone is tighter than you think.
The original tone came from a hot humbucker into a modded tube Plexi — your Yamaha GA15II is a 15W solid-state practice amp with ceramic-magnet speakers and a single-coil bridge pickup, so we're working against significant voicing differences. I pushed the amp's gain to 7 (vs the original's ~3 on the Plexi) because solid-state amps don't compress or saturate the same way. Mid is boosted to 7 to compensate for the GA15II's naturally scooped voicing and to approximate the Plexi's midrange bark.
