The 6505+ is far more aggressive and saturated than a modded Plexi—its gain stages are tighter with scooped mids. Use the Rhythm channel, NOT Lead, and keep gain low (4 vs the original's ~3 on a Plexi) because the 6505+ hits saturation faster. Pushed mids to 6 to compensate for the 6505+'s natural mid-scoop and match the Plexi's midrange bark. Rolled presence back to 4 to avoid the 6505+'s tendency toward ice-pick highs. Your Strat's single-coil bridge is brighter and lower-output than the L-500XL humbucker—tone knob at 7 tames the extra treble while preserving bite.
