Use as a clean boost ONLY — Dist at 0, Level pushing the amp. The original tone had zero pedal distortion; this adds presence and push without muddying the signal. Do NOT stack with amp gain.
The Orange Crush 35RT is warmer and thicker in the low-mids than a Plexi, so I cut bass by 1 and pushed mids to 6 to recover the midrange bark and note definition. The original Dookie tone came from a hot humbucker into a modded Plexi with moderate gain — your T1's single coils are lower output and brighter, so the DS-1 at zero distortion compensates by pushing the front end harder while keeping clarity. Gain stays at 4 because the original was cleaner than most assume.
