Because the Epiphone Les Paul Special II humbuckers have a slightly darker and rounder output than a raw vintage P-90, the mids and treble are pushed forward to recreate that aggressive top-end cut. The bass is kept tight at 5 to prevent the power chords from muddying up through the 8-inch speaker.
