Why these settings

The GP-100's Calfire Dual model reproduces the Mesa Rectifier's massive low-end wall, but requires a TS-style overdrive block in front to shave off excess sub-bass and sharpen the palm mutes. The Ibanez GRG170DX bridge ceramic humbucker has plenty of output, so keeping the amp gain around 7 prevents the modeled preamp from turning to mush. A fast-clamping noise gate block is mandatory to replicate Gojira's signature abrupt silences.

PRO TIPPick extremely hard near the bridge with a stiff pick (1.5mm+) to get the percussive string clack on the low D power chords, and choke strings instantly with the fret hand to make the silences punch.
