RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; running this into the clean Blues Jr gets you 90% of the true 5150 tracking
The Fender Blues Junior IV cannot natively produce 5150 modern death metal saturation, so engage the Fat boost switch, push Volume (preamp gain) to 9, and keep Bass low to prevent the 12-inch open-back cabinet from flubbing on low-D chugs. Crank the Middle control to 8 to offset the Blues Junior's natural American scoop and mimic the Peavey's mid bite. If you add the recommended 5150/high-gain pedal later, disengage the Fat switch, set Blues Junior Volume down to 3, and let the pedal generate the gain. Intro clean section: roll guitar volume down to 3-4 and switch to the neck pickup.
