01Marshall Guv'nor style OD (Black OP / Overdrive block)
Placed before the amp block to provide the signature singing sustain and mid hump.
02Dimension Chorus / Stereo Chorus block
Post-amp block to replicate the studio Roland SDD-320 Dimension D widening effect.
03Plate Reverb block
FX loop / post-amp for the lush studio lead space.
The B.C. Rich ASM humbuckers are hotter and edgier than Gary's PAFs, so rolling the tone knob down to 7 trims upper-fret fizz and rounds out the attack. In the MX5, running the JTM45 block on edge-of-breakup allows the front-end Guv'nor drive block to provide the thick, saturated sustain without turning into modern high-gain mush. Keeping amp mids high while tempering presence preserves the violin-like, vocal sustain characteristic of the original recording.
