The original used a humbucker Les Paul with out-of-phase wiring through a high-headroom Mesa Boogie set nearly clean. Your HSS Strat's humbucker is in the bridge, not neck—use the neck single coil instead and roll tone to 6 to approximate the warm, vocal quality. The MGA15 is a budget practice amp with limited clean headroom, so keep gain at 3 to stay clear; a TS-style pedal set as a clean boost is essential to get the singing sustain Moore achieved. Push mids to 6 to compensate for the amp's naturally scooped voicing.

PRO TIPMoore's legendary sustain came from his aggressive finger vibrato and the way he let notes bloom into the plate reverb. Practice wide, slow vibrato (whole-step bends oscillating at ~5Hz) and let the reverb tail carry the note—don't rush to the next phrase. The 'cry' is in the silence between notes.
