Use as a mid-boost into the amp model to compensate for Strat's scooped single coils vs Les Paul humbuckers — low drive, level above unity

Essential — the studio used EMT plate reverb, not spring. Set for lush sustain without wash

Why these settings

Moore used the neck pickup on a thick-sounding Les Paul humbucker; your Strat's neck single coil is brighter and lower output. The TS model at low drive adds the midrange body and slight compression the Strat lacks. Mid pushed to 8 (vs original's 7) to recover the vocal-like warmth. Treble dropped to 5 and tone knob at 7 to tame Strat ice-pick highs. Bass at 4 prevents the boosted mids from getting muddy.

PRO TIPThe famous 30-second sustained opening note was pure controlled feedback — stand close to your monitor/speaker, angle the guitar toward it, and let the neck pickup ring. Slow, wide vibrato from the wrist (not fingers) is essential to Moore's vocal phrasing; practice sustaining notes with continuous vibrato rather than adding it as an afterthought.
