Why these settings

The Max Music 40 is a practice solid-state amp with a standard 3-band EQ and drive switch, so we run the built-in overdrive channel at gain 7 to capture the heavy wall-of-sound saturation from the original Dual Rectifier. To compensate for the thin, bright single-coil pickups on the Strat copy versus Dave Grohl's thick humbucker-loaded Gibson, keep treble controlled at 7 and push bass to 6 for low-end body in drop-D. Clean intro: roll guitar volume back to 5 or switch off the amp drive button.

PRO TIPDrop your low E string to D and use aggressive, consistent downstrokes on the octaves and open D string while letting the high strings ring out for that signature massive chord spread.
