01ProCo Rat 2 or similar distortion pedal
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for this tone since the Carlsbro 10w cannot produce Mesa Rectifier-level saturation. Set amp gain to 2-3 once you have this pedal.
The original uses a Mesa Dual Rectifier's crushing high-gain preamp. Your Carlsbro 10w is a small solid-state practice amp that cannot physically reach that saturation level — even maxed, it stays in light crunch territory. The amp settings above give you the brightest, grittiest tone possible from the amp alone, but you need a distortion pedal (Rat, DS-1, or similar) to get the actual Everlong wall-of-sound. Once you add the pedal, drop amp gain to 2-3 and let the pedal do the work.
