The solid-state Fender FM 212R has a bright, scooped top end compared to Petrucci's Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+, so we push the Mid control to 7, roll Treble back to 4, and use the 'More Drive' channel for high saturation. With a single-coil Strat, roll the guitar tone knob down to 8 to tame glassy highs and thicken the lead notes to mimic a bridge humbucker. For the expressive clean passages, switch directly to the Normal clean channel with guitar volume around 8.
