The Schecter C-1 Hellraiser carries hot active EMG 81TW/89 pickups, which hit the preamp much harder and brighter than Petrucci's passive DiMarzio Air Norton. Running the neck pickup with the guitar tone knob pulled back to 7 smooths the sharp transient attack, while keeping the G1X Four BG LEAD gain at 6 prevents active-pickup mud while preserving liquid sustain. The TS Drive block is dialed with nearly zero gain to replicate Petrucci's tight mid-hump focus without introducing unwanted fuzz.
