The Yamaha Pacifica 012 ceramic single coils are brighter and thinner than Petrucci's humbuckers, so using the in-between neck+middle position delivers the signature glassy scooped chime without shrill highs. Amp gain is kept very low at 2 with treble lifted to 7 on the GT-100 clean preamp model to replicate the pristine headroom of Mesa/TriAxis clean circuitry. Digital chorus and plate/hall reverb in the GT-100 provide the deep 90s studio polish. Note that the GT-100 preamp block has no separate presence knob on this model, so presence is null. For the high-gain solo section, step on a GT-100 Lead preamp model (e.g. BG Lead) with a TS OD boost instead.
