I'm my dreams amp settings — Fender Mustang LT25
The Dokken guitar tone for “I'm my dreams”, dialed in for a Fender Mustang LT25 with a Gibson Les Paul Modern. Studio version, Under Lock and Key (1985)
Modded Marshall Plexi (dimed), Gibson Les Paul w/ humbuckers, Orange/Marshall 4x12 w/ Celestion Greenbacks, minimal effects (short delay, touch of reverb)
| Knob | Setting (0–10) |
|---|---|
| Gain | 7 |
| Bass | 3 |
| Mid | 7 |
| Treble | 6 |
| Presence | 0 |
| Reverb | 2 |
| Master | 5 |
The original was a dimed Plexi with almost no bass in the guitar tone—the LT25's British model approximates this but is darker and less dynamic, so I pushed mids to 7 and cut bass to 3 to replicate that lean, cutting character. Gain at 7 gets you into crunch territory without mud; the Mustang's digital gain won't feel as touch-sensitive as a cranked tube Plexi, but this gets the aggression. Your Les Paul's humbuckers match Lynch's setup directly—no compensation needed there.
