RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Run into amp's clean channel with amp gain at 3 if using this pedal as primary dirt source. Essential for tightening low-end in Drop C tuning.
The Mooer Hornet 15 is a small solid-state modeling amp with limited gain depth compared to the Randall/Mesa hybrid original. I've set gain at 7 rather than maxing it because small-speaker amps lose definition when oversaturated in Drop C. Mid is dropped to 4 to approximate the scooped modern metal character, but the Hornet won't achieve the original's tight gated response without a TS-style pedal in front — that pedal is critical for this tone.
