Why these settings

The MG15FX is solid-state and inherently brighter/thinner than a Vibrolux tube amp. I pushed mids to 6 (original Vibrolux had flat mids around 5) to compensate for the MG's scooped voicing and add body. Treble at 7 captures the Strat sparkle without the ice-pick highs solid-state can produce. Gain stays low at 3—Knopfler's tone was clean with only slight breakup on hard attacks.
