Why these settings

The original Champ had no mid control and was dimed with treble maxed, bass zeroed. The Spider V's Crunch channel approximates cranked small-amp saturation. I raised mid to 7 to replicate the honky midrange that a cranked Champ naturally produces, and set bass to 3 (not zero) because the Spider's voicing is already thinner than a real Champ. Treble at 8 captures the bite without the digital harshness the Spider can introduce at 10.

PRO TIPClapton attacked the strings hard with his fingers (no pick on many Layla passages) — dig in aggressively near the bridge to get that urgent, vocal quality; the Pacifica's bridge+middle position will give you the quack and cut this tone demands.
